This is what actually matters in an apartment. If a product wins on paper but fails here, it’s a no.
Apartment-first criteria
- Dialogue clarity at low volume
- Night listening (compression / night modes)
- Neighbor impact (bass vibration, not just “loudness”)
- Daily usability (reliability, friction, app quirks)
What gets tested
- Quiet scenes + noisy scenes (dialogue + effects)
- Long-session comfort (for headphones)
- Setup time + settings sanity
- “Does it still work tomorrow?” reliability
